Reentry Program

To get started on your Reentry Program, the first step is to fill out our intake form. This document is essential for gathering the information needed to create your personalized reentry plan. It serves as the blueprint for your journey, helping us understand your goals, needs, and current position within the system.

The intake form can be completed by you or by a trusted family member or friend on the outside. Once we have this information, we can begin crafting a tailored reentry plan for you, ensuring all aspects are considered.

Your first meeting with us is a crucial step in building your reentry plan. It's an opportunity for us to get to know you and your support system better. During this meeting, you will sign an intake form, which includes a Statement of Intent that outlines your commitment to the program, dedicating your time to the material and agreeing to pay for the course materials. You will also be assigned a Program Witness, who will be your dedicated point of contact on the inside.

We strongly encourage you to include family and friends who will be a positive part of your journey toward success. To ensure this meeting is productive, please include only those individuals who are committed to setting goals and achieving them. This is a time for building your future, and we want to ensure the conversation remains focused on your path to success.

Your Program Witness serves as your dedicated accountability partner within the facility. During your initial meeting, you will review the intake form alongside the Program Activity & Study Log. This essential document will help you track and certify the time you dedicate to our services as part of your reentry plan. 

The log provides a verifiable record of your hard work and dedication. By having your Program Witness sign off on your hours each session, you strengthen your portfolio, which showcases your commitment to leading a successful life outside.

During this phase, we collaborate with Our Better Project to identify a dedicated peer mentor for you. This mentor is another incarcerated individual who possesses knowledge or direct experience in your chosen field. As part of your reentry plan, your mentor will serve as an invaluable on-site resource, providing faster answers to questions that may arise, especially those that are not immediately addressed via the intake form. This ensures you receive clarification quickly and maintain your momentum as you work toward your goals.

With your goals set, it's time to begin the work. This step involves dedicating time each day to working through your study materials, training videos, and workbooks as outlined in your intake form. Every single study session must be accounted for. After each session, you will document your time and activity in the Program Activity & Study Log. Following this, you will meet with your Program Witness to have them sign off on the hours, ensuring that every hour you dedicate to building your future is officially recorded as part of your reentry plan.

Congratulations! Upon successful completion and validation of your hours in the Program Activity & Study Log, along with your intake form, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. This isn't just a piece of paper; it's tangible proof of your hard work and commitment. Backed by your official log and program witness, this certificate serves as a powerful tool in your reentry plan, demonstrating to potential employers, landlords, and community leaders that you have a solid foundation for success. It marks the culmination of your efforts and the official start of your new beginning.

Our certificate marks the end of a program, but not the end of our support. We understand that success after release requires continued assistance, and we are still here for you.
